10-Year-Old Boy Labelled 'Nazi' and 'KKK' for Standing During Pledge of Allegiance

Last week, a young boy in Georgia experienced firsthand the kind of values liberal parents instill in their children.

When 10-year-old Jason Newberry's class recited the Pledge of Allegiance last Tuesday at Orrs Elementary School, it was just him and a single classmate that stood and placed their hands over their hearts. As the rest of the class remained seated, what happens next is heartbreaking:

Leftists taught their children to call this little boy a "Nazi" because he stood for our flag.

“Me and him got called KKK, Nazi, and we just kept getting bullied the whole day,” said Newberry.

Newberry said it wasn’t until his second period teacher showed them a news clip of NFL players kneeling that he realized the present controversy surrounding the flag.

The teacher made a poll on paper and passed it out to all the students to see what they thought was right or wrong about taking a knee. The teacher even told students that she would never stand for the Pledge of Allegiance and that if she did stand she would not really mean it.

This is what education has become — the role of elementary school education reduced to systematic political indoctrination.

Newberry's teacher faced no disciplinary for turning a blind-eye to the bullying of her students, and in fact got off with just a non-apology. The students that called Newberry "Nazi" and "KKK" were not disciplined.

In a letter released to outraged parents the following day, Newberry's teacher wrote:

I apologize for expressing my views to my students.  I recognize that while this was not a one-sided lesson, the topic itself and the expression of my views were not appropriate, my intentions were well-meaning.

With "educators" leeching off Georgia's tax dollars to brainwash children and their leftist parents happily funding their efforts, it should come as no surprise that Georgia’s elementary school performance has been declining while performance at other grade levels remains virtually unchanged.

Newberry's bravery, however, did not go unrecognized. Parents from all over the district showed their support two days later, standing with their children in front of the school's flag while the National Anthem played over the loud speaker.

Perhaps the school's prior treatment of their flag was an indication of the administration's overall attitude toward our country, as it was worn and battered.

An early morning photo captured Jason Newberry saying the Pledge of Allegiance outside of Orrs Elementary School.

”You know, one or two people did start showing up, he was very excited,” said Lisa Newberry, Jason’s mother. “Like yay I did it.”

”When I pulled up they were changing our flag because it was so mangled and all that,” Lisa Newberry said.

The flag was torn and stuck on a tree on Wednesday. A spokesperson for the school district said after our story aired, they decided to get a new one.

Newberry says she’s proud of her son and hopes the school will support the children who do decide to stand for the stars and stripes.

The future of America's youth is a dark one, redeemed only by the bravery of students like Jason Newberry. For every story like his, there are dozens more that will never be told and hundreds more that will never be held to answer for their anti-American beliefs.

Stay alert. Stay alive.
