IRONY: Leftists Support 2nd Amendment Rights — So They Can Shoot People Exercising 1st Amendment Rights

Overall in America, the vast majority of leftists enthusiastically support repealing the Second Amendment right to bear arms and rolling out national confiscation programs. Hypocrite Senator Diane Feinstein, who was once carried a concealed firearm, famously rallied for disarmament in 1995:

Since then, domestic terror groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter have given a platform for even further-radicalized leftists to emerge. Surprisingly, the most extreme among them actually support the Second Amendment — but not for the reasons you might think.

Earlier today, a new piece from notoriously left-leaning outlet Vice Magazine was released, called "The Leftist Argument Against Gun Control." The author of the piece, Eve Peyser, set up interviews with, as she puts it "more than a dozen lefties who want the government to stay away from their guns."

From the article:

In the wake of the shooting in Las Vegas that left 59 dead and hundreds injured, the pro-gun right has been making its usual arguments against gun control: The Second Amendment gives us the right to access guns of any kind; we need guns to fight against government tyranny; gun control won’t actually prevent mass shootings; heart disease kills more Americans annually than guns; murder is illegal, and that doesn’t prevent it from happening all the time.

Less attention is paid to the leftists who oppose gun control. But they’re out there. The Black Panthers famously advocated using guns for self-defense, and white fears about black people with guns helped inspire gun control. Today, Dallas’s Huey P. Newton Gun Club continues that legacy.

The idea of guns granting power to the oppressed isn’t unique to black power groups. “Gun control means disarming the revolutionary masses and oppressed classes,” a leftist named William Gillis told me in an email. Gillis, one of the 15 anti–gun control leftists I talked to by phone and email for this story, called gun control “the worst possible idea in history.”

History has changed radically since the 1950's, but the left's penchant for violence has remained the same. Whereas the Black Panthers once treasured their right to bear arms in order to defend themselves against violent Democrats, they now want guns simply to "kill some crackas" and "some of their babies."

The article also mentions William Gillis as one of the anti gun-control leftists. Who exactly is he? Our research uncovered his twitter page where he describes himself as a "Physicist, anarchist [and] transhumanist," whatever that last one meant. He is also the owner of Human Iterations, a militant anarchist blog where he espouses the virtues of socialism and radical anarchy.

The future of academia is doomed.

Why does Gillis value his right to bear arms? Not for self-defense against violence, but to do violence against those he disagrees with:

By no means is white supremacy a force for good nor should its tenets be praised, however, the group pictured above merely marched and chanted hateful rhetoric. They deserve to be shot no more than the Black Panthers previously depicted. The answer to hateful speech is not force, it's more speech. You don't get to shoot people you disagree with.

However, the left inherently doesn't understand that free speech includes all speech, including things that may not be correct, inclusive or even appropriate. To them, any speech they don't like is violence, therefore force may be used in response.

Other leftists Vice interviewed had slightly less extreme, but equally ironic reasons for supporting the Second Amendment:

Not all anti-gun control arguments are this fanatical, but many stem from a fundamental mistrust of the US government. Alex Turner, a 24-year-old retail manager from Kentucky, believes that we can’t trust Trump to not tweet out a declaration of war or the Democratic Party to hold a fair primary, so why should we trust the government to regulate firearms? (Of the anti-gun control leftists I corresponded with, most of them were men who voted for Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary and either sat out the general election or begrudgingly voted for Hillary Clinton.)

Essentially, government power is good when it's in the left's favor, but not when it's the opposing party! How about this for a novel thought — big government is bad for everyone is general? For some reason, leftists never understand the ramifications of installing big socialist governments ala Bernie Sanders or totalitarian regimes ala Hillary Clinton. By definition the prerequisite for these systems is disarmament of the people and complete transfer of power to the state.

Hillary Clinton wants gun control. Bernie Sanders wants gun control. For some reason, the fact that President Trump advocates for gun rights has gone by the wayside.

Ah, leftists. They'll never learn.

Stay alert. Stay alive.
