Illegal Immigrant Acquitted in the Murder of Kate Steinle
On July 1, 2015, San Francisco resident Kathryn Steinle was enjoying a beautiful day at Pier 14 in the city with her family. The last thing she expected was that she'd be senselessly murdered.
Jose Inez Garcia Zarate, a 52-year-old illegal immigrant with seven prior felony convictions, was also at Pier 14 that day. Thanks to San Francisco's status as a sanctuary city, Zarate had previously been deported no less than five times and was wanted for a sixth.
Zarate removed a stolen gun from a bundled cloth, then fired three rounds. One struck Steinle in the back, sending her screaming into her father's arms.
"Help me, dad." Those were Kate's last words. Two hours later, she died at San Francisco General Hospital. Zarate was eventually captured and tried for murder.
Two years later, the justice system failed the Steinle family.
From CBS Bay Area:
There are no words to describe the evil that is progressive policy.
Thanks to San Francisco's self-destructive stance on illegal immigration, a career criminal was able to illegally enter and stay within our borders on five separate occasions. He was able to gain an illegal weapon despite San Francisco's strict gun-control laws, and he was able to take the life of a beautiful young woman whose only sin was enjoying a day in a city that has completely abandoned the thought of public safety.
President Trump expressed his outrage in a twitter post:
Better add another ten feet just in case, and dedicate it to Kathryn Steinle. May her death be not in vain. God bless the Steinle family.
Stay alert. Stay alive.
