Kids Listen Better When You Appeal to Their Sense of Morality. Can This Work for Leftists?
A recent article from the New York Magazine went to great lengths to demonstrate that while children may not have the strongest grasp of logical concepts, even the most rebellious of tykes understand their actions affect others:
The Lifehacker piece referenced in the article explains in-depth a child's mental process and encourages parents to incorporate consequential reasoning when advising their little ones how to behave.
Specifically, how their actions would negatively impact others:
While these concepts aren't exactly revolutionary, the interesting thing is that the opposite seems to hold true for those indoctrinated by the left.
Since leftism is predicated on identifying victim groups and advocating on their behalf (albeit in ways that ultimately backfire), perhaps changing the consequence to demonstrate the impact upon the leftist could help. Everything is, of course, all about them.
So we tried our hands at it. Here's what we came up with for all the young revolutionaries:
Instead of "Ban guns because mass shooters use them"...
"Learn how to safely use a gun so you can stop mass shooters."
Instead of "Stop encouraging abortion because it kills innocent children"...
"Innocent children need you to save their lives."
Instead of "Raise the minimum wage so the poor can make a living"...
"Eliminate regulations so you can start a business and employ the poor."
Instead of "Don't eliminate Sanctuary Cities because the undocumented need a home"...
"Get rid of Sanctuary Cities because you need a home."
It's a work in progress, but we tried.
Stay alert. Stay alive.
