Deadly Day For Law Enforcement: Six Officers Shot in Three U.S. Cities, Two Dead
As the country continues descending into chaos, law enforcement agencies nationwide are seeing a nearly 20% increase in line-of-duty deaths this year. The trend shows no sign of slowing, as figures quickly approach that of 2016, the deadliest year for police over a 5-year span. Last year, 135 officers were killed in action.
Friday evening marked another tragic day for police, as six officers were shot in three cities. Two officers have been confirmed dead.
In Kissimmee, Florida, a city about 23 miles away from Orlando, Kissimmee Police Officer Matthew Baxter and Sergeant Sam Howard were shot while responding to a call in high-crime area. Both died from their injuries. Authorities have not released any additional information, stating only that they have at least one person in custody at this time.
In Jacksonville, Florida, two Sheriff's Deputies with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office were also shot. The suspect in this case has been shot and killed by responding officers and a media conference will be held later tonight. One of the deputies that was shot has stabilized; the other remains in critical condition.
Finally, 1,500 miles away in Fairchance, Pennsylvania, two Pennsylvania State Police troopers were also shot the same evening. Both troopers were hospitalized; reports indicate they are stable and alert. The suspect died at some point either during or after the encounter, according to officials.
There is a war on cops in our country. Now more than ever, they need our support. Their sacrifices shall not go ignored.
Randy Sutton is a retired Las Vegas police lieutenant and the national spokesman for Blue Livers Matter, a police advocacy group. In an interview, he described the cause of the sudden spike in violence against law enforcement.
From Fox News:
The six officers that were shot tonight all have families and loved ones. They were hurt and gave their lives in service of the public they were sworn to protect.
True American patriots will honor their sacrifices. Leftists will carry on with their hateful rhetoric:
The left is getting what they want, and the attacks will not stop until they are stopped.
Stay alert. Stay alive.
