Chelsea Clinton Goes Off the Rails, Compares Confederate Statues to Celebrating Lucifer

On Thursday, Chelsea Clinton proved that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree when she hopped on twitter to write this gem:

“The story of Lucifer—who rebelled against God—is part of many Christians’ traditions. I’ve never been in a church with a Lucifer statue.”
— Chelsea Clinton

Clinton is referencing the recent spate of attacks on statues representing pieces of American history. Figures depicting Abraham Lincoln, Confederate soldiers and Robert E. Lee were damaged or destroyed for supposedly celebrating racism and slavery.

Of course, Clinton's tweet didn't go unanswered, as over 16,000 people retweeted the post and added their own comments:

Apparently, the only purpose an effigy serves is as a celebration of evil. No need to remember the ugly parts of America (or the Democratic Party's roots). They'll tear them down for you.

Stay alert. Stay alive.
