College Student that Mocked BLM Protesters Gets Indicted for "Civil Rights Intimidation"

Welcome to America, land of the one-way racial narrative and identity politics.

Thanks to the left's hard work, you should feel free to threaten to kill all white people, block street traffic and yell for a city to be burned down. So long as you're part of a politically-protected victim class, odds are you'll face little, if any repercussion.

Since its inception in mid-2013, Black Lives Matter protesters have committed violence on behalf of strong-arm robbers, insurance scammers and knife-wielding criminals. In virtually every case BLM protests, the "victims" they advocate for died while attacking or resisting law enforcement.

To members of BLM, it was not poor decisions that got these men killed, but rather racism. Of course, they also ignore inconvenient facts such as:

Still, anyone that mocks the BLM narrative must be shut down and destroyed.

From the Daily Wire:

On September 28, 2016, former East Tennessee State University freshman, Tristan Rettke, attended a Black Lives Matter demonstration wearing a gorilla mask. Holding a sign that read “Lives Matter,” Rettke distributed bananas from a burlap sack with the Confederate flag printed on it, and waved one of the bananas on a string in front of attendees.

In March, Rettke was indicted by a Washington County grand jury on “two counts of civil rights intimidation, two counts of disorderly conduct, and disrupting a meeting,” reports the New York Post.

According to the Associated Press, Rettke’s attorney, Patrick Denton, is demanding the charges be dropped, alleging “the statutes Rettke was charged under are the same ones that protect the free speech he was exhibiting.”

As immature and tactless as Rettke's decisions were, charges of this nature are a dangerously slippery slope, as it challenges the very concept of free speech. From the Associated Press:

Campus police arrested and charged Rettke with civil rights intimidation. The motion filed by his attorney, Patrick Denton, says the statutes Rettke was charged under are the same ones that protect the free speech he was exhibiting.

This is our country now; a land where blacks can call for violence and encourage the slaying of whites and police without consequence, but putting on a mask and handing out fruit is "civil rights intimidation."

Stay alert. Stay alive.
