YES! Petition to Formally Recognize Antifa as Terrorists Hits 100k Signatures, Goes to the White House
A petition circulated on whitehouse.gov has attracted over 100,000 supporters in favor of formally recognizing Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization.
From We The People:
We The People is a public platform provided by the White House that allows citizens to present issues of concern. While anyone can create a petition, those that gather 100,000 signatures within 30 days are promised an official response from the White House.
After launching less than three days ago, the petition has already gathered 125,967 signatures at the time of this report.
For too long, these violent Antifa thugs have cowered behind their masks and used violent tactics to systematically silence their critics and crush dissent. It's time for them to be held accountable for their actions.
During the May Day protests, Antifa thugs rioted throughout Oregon, Washington, New York, Texas and even abroad in France, destroying property, attacking police and battering anyone they didn't like with baseball bats, rocks and explosives.
Just one month following these events, Homeland Security officials in New Jersey declared Antifa a domestic terror organization, categorizing the group as "Anarchist Extremists." It's time to apply that definition on a national scale.
Despite the rapid success of the petition, Americans aren't completely out of the woods yet. Since President Trump took office in February, nearly one dozen qualified petitions have gone without response from the White House.
According to the WHPetitions.info page, President Trump's administration has until September 17 to give an official response. Just yesterday, President Trump tweeted in support of law enforcement and called out Antifa on their actions:
Looks like many anti-police agitators in Boston. Police are looking tough and smart! Thank you.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 19, 2017
It's definitely a step in the right direction, but we've got a long way to go.
Stay alert. Stay alive.
