Down But Not Out: Google Employee Fired Over Free Speech May File Lawsuit
Two days ago, we brought you the story of a Google employee that wrote about the culture of leftist bullying in his work place.
That employee has now been identified as senior software engineer James Damore. After authoring an essay entitled "Google's Ideological Echo Chamber," in which he points out that the search engine giant suppresses conservative values and ideological diversity in the workplace, leftists within the corporate power structure got to work. They proved him right.
Outraged that Damore would dare point out that women were different from men, female Google employees decided they'd fulfill the stereotype and stayed home for "emotional reasons."
Leftists got on twitter to blast Damore, calling for his firing. CEO Sundar Pichai issued a statement declaring that Damore's memo had violated “the line by advancing harmful gender stereotypes in our workplace … To suggest a group of our colleagues have traits that make them less biologically suited to that work is offensive and not OK.”
Damore was eventually fired for speaking the truth. Now he's fighting back.
From the Daily Wire:
Damore will not fight his fight alone. According to reports, conservatives still working behind enemy lines are quietly supporting Damore's message of merit and performance over identity politics. According to Damore himself, former coworkers had reached out privately to express "their gratitude for bringing up these very important issues." Others chimed in publicly as well.
We will keep a close eye on further developments, as the outcome of Damore's case will likely set the precedent for future attacks on free speech by leftist corporations. Once the expression of certain truths can be openly treated with hostility, it will only be a matter of time before freedom of expression is completely eradicated from American culture.
Stay alert. Stay alive.
