"Whose Streets? Our Streets!" St. Louis Police Chant After Arresting Violent Leftists

The left has a nasty habit of making martyrs out of criminals in an effort to discredit our nation's efforts at law and order. The game is simple enough — when criminals get hurt, the police are brutal, but when a criminal hurts an innocent victim, it's because the police are lazy and ineffective. Either way, the narrative creates division, which is what the left always wants for the country.

After defending a strong-arm robber, a drug-dealing con-artist and a knife-wielding thug, all of whom died after making drastically bad decisions, the latest in line for the racist left's support is Anthony Lamar Smith, a criminal with a rap sheet that includes weapons and drug charges.

Lamar Smith died trying to pull a gun on a police officer after failing to escape a high-speed vehicle pursuit. Leftists demanded murder charges for the officer and painted a racial narrative. When the officer was acquitted, all hell broke loose.

For the past four days, St. Louis has been a veritable war-zone thanks to the violent tactics of the left. Rioters tore through the streets, injuring police officers with bricks, blocking traffic and smashing and burning private property. Last night alone, 120 rioters were arrested including members of Antifa, some armed to the teeth:

Law and order was all but gone. St. Louis police officers decided enough was enough.

Early Monday morning, officers took back their city from the rioters, arresting yet another 80 people that turned out to wreak havoc.

From USA Today:

When the streets had finally calmed early Monday, Interim Police Chief Lawrence O’Toole said more than 80 arrests had been made and five weapons confiscated. He said several officers suffered minor or moderate injuries and all would soon return to work.

As the streets quieted, some protesters and Post-Dispatch reporters said they heard officers chanting “Whose streets? Our streets!” — a phrase often chanted by protest marchers.

”I’m proud to tell you the city of St. Louis is safe and police own the night,” O’Toole said. “We are in control of this city, and we are going to protect it.”

There can be no justice so long as criminals are allowed to be martyrs for the left. There can be no peace without law and order. There can be no progress until America shuns the left.
