San Francisco's "Free" City College Praised by Socialist Loonbag Bernie Sanders
Of course, the program is anything but free to tax payers — after all, someone has to foot the bills. In this case, the $5.4 million tab is funded by San Francisco's Proposition W, a tax increase on homes valued at $5 million or more (in a city where housing prices are already the highest in the nation). Any taxes not used for the Free City program are collected in San Francisco's general fund.
Hilariously, Free City is only slated to run for only two years as a 'pilot program.' When the initiative ultimately fails, do you think San Francisco will repeal the tax increases? Fat chance.
Nevertheless, City College of San Francisco's Diego Rivera theater and plaza was packed with hordes of brain-washed young adults. According to an unnamed source close to the event:
At one point during the event, a deranged woman rushed the stage clutching a bundle of flowers, only to be stopped and hustled away by a campus police sergeant:
A campus police officer told our source that after the initial attempt, the unidentified female spent the rest of the event desperately trying to sneak into side and back entrances to greet her socialist hero. "We were told not to do anything," says the officer, "so we just kept chasing her away the entire time. People were still angry with us."
A small army of off-duty SFPD officers were also on hand for crowd-control at a cost of $110.57 each per hour, due to CCSF's Board of Trustees insisting that their campus police officers work unarmed, because a socialist Senator needs protection from armed men and women, but not the students attending City College every day. This is the same college that hired Mark Rocha as Chancellor at an eye-watering salary of $310,500 before benefits. Rocha previously served as the President of Pasadena City College, the only other educational institution in California that also insists on a disarmed police department.
Bernie Sander's wife, Jane O'Meara Sanders, was also in attendance. The irony must've lost on the audience, as nobody pointed out her time as president of Burlington College. In 2011, O'Meara Sanders resigned after taking on enormous amounts of debt, which resulted in the school's closure. Earlier this year, the FBI launched an investigation into her college-cash dealings.
